Playoffs up next for Skidmore men’s soccer

Box Score SCHENECTADY. N.Y.— The Skidmore  College men's soccer team lost its regular-season finale, 2-1 in overtime to Union College, Saturday.
 
The Thoroughbreds (11-5-2, 5-2-1 Liberty) will travel to Rensselaer on Nov. 6 for the Liberty League semifinals. The Dutchmen end their season at 12-3-2 and 4-3-1.
 
Nick Vozzella tallied an overtime goal with just 45 seconds remaining in the second OT session for the Dutchmen win.

Skidmore took a 1-0 lead when Adam Beek tallied a goal off a free kick. Beek's shot deflected off the left post before finding its way past the Union goalkeeper.

The Dutchmen tied the game early in the second half.

Both teams traded scoring chances down the stretch but were unable to find the back of the net. The second half ended with the teams tied at one. Union was the only team to muster a shot in the first overtime but Skidmore goalkeeper Eli Kisselbach made the save.
