Rams hold off late charging Thoroughbreds

Box Score Saratoga Springs, N.Y.-- A late second half goal was the difference in Farmingdale 's 1-0 women's soccer win over Skidmore College, Saturday afternoon at Wachenheim Field.
 
The Thoroughbreds are 0-3, while the Rams improve to 2-1.
 
Corine Magee found the net for Farmingdale at the 76:18 mark, collecting a loose ball in the box for her first goal of the season.  Andrea Kiefer played the ball into the box from the midfield for the assist.
 
Skidmore had chances late, with a corner and restart in the final :48 that resulted in three shots on net.
 
The Thoroughbreds had a 14-11 shot and 5-4 corner advantage. Gab Lawrence stopped three shots in goal for Skidmore. Breanna Blair had 10 saves for Farmingdale, including three in the final minute.
 
Skidmore is home on Sept. 11 at 7 p.m. in a non-league contest against Sage.
