Box Score Saratoga Springs, N.Y.-- The Skidmore College women's soccer team lost it's Liberty League home opener, 3-0 to The Rochester Institute of Technology, Friday at Wachenheim Field.
The loss drops the Thoroughbreds to 1-6-1 overall and 0-2-1 in league play. The Tigers improve to 6-3 and 2-0.
RIT junior Rachel Bromson accounted for all of the Tiger scoring with three goals, giving her nine for the season.
Bromson scored her first at 16:00 when she headed home a long pass form Emily Shoemaker for a 1-0 lead. She made it 2-0 five minutes later when she one-timed a cross from Becca Dowling-Fitzpa. Her third goal was a penalty kick after a Skidmore hand ball.
The Thoroughbreds had a 10-8 shot and 7-2 corner kick advantage.
Gab Lawrence had three saves for Skidmore, while Amanda Murray stopped five shots for the Tigers.
Skidmore will host William Smith on Saturday at 2 p.m. RIT travels to RPI for a 2 p.m. match.
