Michelle Finan scored the game's lone goal in the 70th minute to lift Skidmore to a 1-0 victory over Vassar in Saturday's Liberty League women's soccer matchup.
The Thoroughbreds are now 2-7-1 overall and 1-2-1 in league play, while the Brewers fall to 8-4 and 3-2.
After a scoreless first half, Skidmore came out firing in the second and were able to convert in the 70th minute.
Rebecca Russo sent a long ball past the Vassar defense to Finan, who turned and sent a hard shot into the far right side of the net for her first of the season.
Vassar responded as they ripped off eight shots in the final 20:05, but junior keeper
Gab Lawrence came up with five saves down the stretch to secure the 1-0 victory.
Lawrence finished with eight saves, while Ali Higgins made two stops for the Brewers.
Both teams finished with four corners, while Vassar held an 18-13 advantage in shots.
Skidmore returns to action tomorrow at Bard for a 2 p.m. start.
