Saratoga Springs, N.Y.-- The Skidmore College men's soccer team spotted RIT an early goal and then couldn't find the equalizer in a 1-0 Liberty League loss, Saturday afternoon at Wachenheim Field.
The loss drops the Thoroughbreds to 1-3 in league play and 4-7 overall, while the Tigers improve to 2-0-1 and 5-3-2.
Dan Holowaty popped a ball up into the air that found its way past Skidmore keeper
Nick Peterson for the game's lone score at 13:28. It was the team-high sixth of the season for Holowaty.
Skidmore came out hard in the second half, but RIT keeper Sean Conway stopped all four shots he faced in the half and five total for the game to earn the shutout. The Thoroughbreds best opportunity came in the 68th minute on a dangerous cross that Tiger defender Ryan Giust headed away into the midfield.
Peterson finished with four saves for the Thoroughbreds. Skidmore had a narrow 11-9 edge in shots.
