AMHERST, MA –  Skidmore College knocked off 25th ranked Amherst College 1-0 on the road in a non-league women's soccer contest.

Skidmore scored the game's only goal with 15:34 to play in the first half. Against the run of play, Alyssa Miller played a long ball into the Amherst goal mouth, where Christine Bellotti beat Horwitz off her line for a soft header that trickled into the lower right corner.

The Thoroughbred defense shut down the nationally ranked Lord Jeffs with Megan Sleezer making seven saves for the shutout.

It was the second straight win for Skidmore over the Lord Jeffs.

The Thoroughbreds will host Utica College on Saturday.
