Saratoga Springs, N.Y.-- Five different players scored to lead the Skidmore College field hockey team to a 5-1 Liberty League win over the University of Rochester, Saturday afternoon at Thoroughbred Field.

The 14th ranked Thoroughbreds have won five straight to go to 6-1 overall and 3-0 in Liberty League play. The Yellowjackets fall to 3-4 and 0-2.

Skidmore set the tone early when Brittany O'Brien moved the ball down the left side and found Annie Rosencrans in front for a 1-0 lead just 40 seconds into the game. Christine Kemp made it 2-0 with 13:17 to play when she took a pass from Katie Potter and powered the ball past Rochester goalie Madison Wagner for her eighth goal of the season.

Rochester got one back late in the half off a corner, when Darragh Kerr redirected a shot from Anna Dobrzynski at the 30:40 mark.

The second half was all Skidmore. Katie Potter gave Skidmore a 3-1 lead at 56:08 when she fired a shot home from 10 yards in front. O'Brien scored three minutes later from Rosencrans to make it 4-1. Kelly Blackhurst scored her eighth of the season from Kemp at 65:14 to round out the scoring.

The Thoroughbreds had a 22-5 shot and 16-4 corner advantage. Skidmore goalie Liz Catinella had three saves. Wagner finished with 11 saves for Rochester.

Next up for the Thoroughbreds is a home game with Middlebury on Sept. 30 at 4 p.m.
