Saratoga Springs, N.Y. – Skidmore College was awarded the Liberty League sportsmanship award in women's swimming & diving as voted on by representatives of each school's Student-Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC).

 

The Thoroughbreds were co-winners along with Union and have received the award for the second consecutive year.

 

The winning institutions in each sport were selected by league members based on sportsmanship exhibited by teams, coaches, fans, and event staff. Examples of good sportsmanship include respect for opponents and officials, positive support for all competitors, and proper conduct in the arena of competition as defined by the applicable playing rules.

 

The Thoroughbreds finished their 2009-2010 campaign strong, setting six college records at this year's state meet.

Women's Basketball: William Smith College

Men's Squash: University of Rochester

Women's Squash: Vassar College

Men's Swimming & Diving: Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute

Women's Swimming & Diving: Skidmore College & Union College

Men's Track & Field: St. Lawrence University

Women's Track & Field: Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute
