Elena Stansky scored 6:08 into overtime to lift the Skidmore College women's soccer team to a 1-0 Liberty League win over St. Lawrence University, Friday afternoon at Wachenheim Field.
The Thoroughbreds improve to 1-1-1 in league play and 6-3-2 overall, while the Saints fall to 1-2 and 7-5.
Scoring opportunities were at a premimum in regulation with both defenses able to clean-up any dangerous chances.
In the overtime, Skidmore's
Catherine Kapustynski played a perfect long ball toward the back left corner of the box that Stansky headed past SLU keeper Abby van Geldern for the 1-0 win. It was Stansky's team-high fifth goal of the season and her second game-winner.

Lindsay Schmitt played a key role in keeping the Saints off the board, holding the team to only five shots on goal. Skidmore goalie
Meghan Sleezer had five saves for her second shutout of the season.
Skidmore will host Clarkson on Saturday at 2 p.m., while the Saints travel to Union College.
