Saratoga Springs, N.Y. – The Skidmore College men's soccer team defeated Utica 1-0 in Wednesday night's non-conference action at Wachenheim Field.
Doug Yeates gave the Thoroughbreds an early 1-0 lead when he beat the Utica keeper on
Diego Reinero's crossing pass for his second goal of the season.
The one goal would be all Skidmore needed as they outshot the Pioneers 19-3. Thoroughbred keeper
Nick Peterson didn't face a shot on goal to pick up his second shutout of the year. Utica goalie Kevin Murphy made three saves in the loss.
With the win, Skidmore improves to 3-2 on the season and Utica falls to 1-3 on the year. Skidmore remains a perfect 3-0 at home this season and have yet to give up a goal on their home turf.
The Thoroughbreds return to action Saturday, when they travel to Plattsburgh.
