Late goal keeps Skidmore women unbeaten

Oneonta, N.Y.—Skidmore College freshman Lauren Madden scored her team-leading third goal of the season with under nine minutes to play in regulation to lead the Thoroughbreds to a 1-0 win at Hartwick College in the first round of the Mayor's Cup Tournament.
 
The win keeps Skidmore unbeaten at 3-0. The Thoroughbreds will play at SUNY Oneonta for the tournament championship on Sunday at 4 p.m.
 
Sarah Whately earned the assist on Madden's game-winner. Skidmore dominated the contest, with a 16-3 shot advantage. The Thoroughbreds did not allow a shot in the second half.
 
Freshman goalie Meghan Sleezer had three saves for the shutout.
