TROY, N.Y. – Skidmore College saw four different student-athletes score goals, including three in the second half, and the Thoroughbreds defeated Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute (RPI), 4-0, in a Liberty League women's soccer match at Renwyck Field.  Skidmore, the 22nd-ranked team in the nation, improves to 7-1-1 overall and 1-0 in the Liberty League.  RPI is now 5-3 and 0-1.

The Thoroughbreds took the lead in the 18th minute when senior Rachel Sushner (Potomac, MD/Winston Churchill) found a rebound just outside the RPI six-yard box and buried a point blank shot.

Skidmore tripled its lead midway through the second half by scoring two goals in under a minute.  Freshman Abby Benton (Vergennes, VT/Vergennes Union) finished a right-footed cross from Erin Donnellan (Walpole, MA/Walpole) at 60:35 and Elena Stansky (Worcester, MA/Worcester Academy) made it 3-0 at 61:41.  Stansky, a freshman, scored on a hard shot 20 yards from goal.

Sophomore Dana Brill (Newton, MA/Newton North) tallied the final goal when she lofted a shot over the outstretched hands of the RPI goalkeeper.  Laura Flynn (Wellesley, MA/Wellesley) earned an assist on the marker.

Meghan Sleezer (Gloversville, NY/Gloversville), a freshman, made four saves to earn the win for the Thoroughbreds, who outshot the Red Hawks, 26-8.  Ellie Shorey (Cleveland Heights, OH/Hathaway Brown) played the final 12:27.  She did not make any saves.
