#25 Ithaca comes away with 2-0 women's soccer win

Box Score

Saratoga Springs, N.Y.--  Ithaca College scored a pair of late first-half goals less than three minutes apart for a 2-0 win over Skidmore College in non-conference women's soccer action Saturday at Wachenheim Field.

The Thoroughbreds fall to 8-3-1, while the 25th ranked Bombers have won six straight to go to 7-1-1.

The teams went at it early in the game with both sides getting chances, but nobody was able to get on the board until Emily Mogk's (Bozeman, Mont.) corner kick landed in the box for Amy Scheffer (Schalmont, N.Y.) to collect and give Ithaca a 1-0 lead at 41:28.

The Bombers made it 2-0 when Megan Trager (Sharon, Mass.) recovered a ball after a Skidmore corner and sent Winnie Adrien (Blair, N.J.) in on a breakaway from midfield at 43:47.

Thoroughbred goalie Meghan Sleezer (Gloversville, N.Y.) finished with a season-high 10 saves, including eight in the first half.  Alyssa Sotomayor had seven saves for Ithaca.

Skidmore returns to Liberty League action on Friday at 4 p.m. when the Thoroughbreds host Hamilton College.
