WILLIAMSTOWN, Mass.— The 28
th ranked Skidmore College men's tennis team narrowly missed the upset of 14
th ranked Williams College, dropping a tightly contested 5-4 match, Sunday afternoon.
With the match tied 4-4, the outcome came down to number five singles. Skidmore's
Jonah Epstein shook off a first set 6-2 loss to Sachin Raghavan, battling back in the second set with a 6-4 win. Raghavan took the third set 6-4 to give Williams the 5-4 win.
The Ephs led 2-1 after doubles Epstein and
Kai Yuen Leung had the Thoroughbred win at number two doubles 8-6 over Jordan Sadowsky and Brian Astrachan.
Leung beat Jose Raventos 6-1, 7-5 at number one singles.
Kit Sanderson was a 6-1 6-1 winner at number two singles over Rohan Shastri.
Ted Berkowitz won 6-4, 6-0 at number six singles against Howard Weiss.
Skidmore returns to action on April 10 against Emory University at Middlebury College. Â
