TROY, N.Y. - Five Skidmore athletes have earned weekly recognition, as announced by the Liberty League Monday for the week ending March 3.
Lexi Melville of women's lacrosse has been selected as the league's Offensive Player of the Week after netting seven goals in a 20-19 overtime loss at Mount Holyoke on March 2.
Jon Hoeg of the men's lacrosse squad also takes home Offensive Player of the Week honors after tallying seven points of his own on two goals and five assists to lead Skidmore to a 12-11 victory over Bates College on March 3.
Lila Rosenfeld earns Rookie of the Week honors in softball after going 3-8 including two home runs in a doubleheader against Lyndon State College on February 28. The Thoroughbreds captured the first game 6-3, before narrowly dropping the night cap 6-5.
Skidmore Tennis is also well represented in this week's awards as Oliver Loutsenko and Lee Ford were both selected as Player of the Week for men and women's tennis respectively.
Loutsenko went 2-0, winning both singles and doubles matches against NYU. Ford had a strong showing at the ITA Division III Indoor Championships in Greencastle, Ind., winning two of three singles matches as well as posting two wins in doubles competition.
