Curt Speerschneider and staff highlighted end of the year honors for the Skidmore women's tennis as they earned Liberty League Coaching Staff of the Year.
Speerschneider along with Kim Westcott and Sam Woods led the Thoroughbreds to their sixth straight NCAA Tournament appearance, while winning the Liberty League title for the second straight season and ranking as high as 17
th in the national polls.
At singles, junior
Nataly Mendoza and sophomore
Melissa Hirsch were named All-League, while senior
Tory Engros earned honorable mention. In doubles, Mendoza and sophomore
Lee Ford were All-League selections.
Skidmore finished the season with a 15-6 record and reached the regional final of the NCAA Tournament. Ford and Mendoza will be competing in the 2012 NCAA doubles championships from May 24-26 in Cary, N.C.
