JT Wynne defeated teammate
Steven Koulouris 6-2, 0-6, 6-4 to win the Intercollegiate Tennis Association Northeast Region Men's Division III title Monday afternoon at Wenger Courts.

The pair changed uniforms, grabbed a snack and quickly returned to the court to win the doubles title 6-4, 6-2 over Sebastian Castillo-Sanchez and Andrew Imrie of Rensselaer.

Wynne (single/doubles) and Koulouris (doubles) will represent the Northeast in the Oracle Cup National Championships Oct. 11-15 at the Rome Tennis Center at Berry College in Rome, Ga.

Wynne, seeded sixth, beat third seed Alan Dubrovsky of Hobart 6-3, 6-3 in the singles semifinals to punch his ticket to the finals. Koulouris, seeded second, beat fourth seed Danny Polk of Stevens 6-4, 6-3 in the other semifinal.

In doubles, Castillo-Sanchez and Imrie took a 4-3 first set lead before the Thoroughbred pair rattled off three straight for the 6-4 set win. Wynne and Koulouris took the second set 6-2.

The wins translate to automatic All-America honors for both players.
