Box Score

SARATOGA SPRINGS, N.Y.-- The Skidmore College men's hockey team went 0-4 on the power play in a 3-1 loss to #9 UMASS-Boson in ECAC East action Friday at the Saratoga Springs City Rink.

The Thoroughbreds drop to 4-13-3 overall and 3-9-1 in the East, while the Beacons are 16-3-1 and 11-2.

Skidmore took an early 1-0 lead when Antony Bird's scored on the team's first shot of the game just 35 seconds in. The puck trickled off UMB goalie Billy Faust and slowly made its way over the line.  Christian Leahy and Andreas Michailidis assisted.

That would be the only mistake of the night for Faust who kept the Thoroughbreds off the board for the rest of the game to remain unbeaten with a 7-0-1 record.

UMB tied it on Matt Lemire's power-play goal at 3:30 of the second from Mike Miller and Colin Larkin.  The Beacons went in front at 13:22 when Colin Larkin sent a face off back to Stephen Buco who fired it home for his 14th of the season.

Nathan Milam found the top-corner for an insurance goal at 13:05 of the third from Larkin and Michael Kuhn.

UMB outshot Skidmore 40-19. Jack McDonald had 37 saves in net for the Thoroughbreds, while Faust finished with 18 saves.

Skidmore will host #7 Babson on Saturday at 4 p.m.
