Thoroughbreds hand Plattsburgh its first loss

Box Score PLATTSBURGH, N.Y. The Skidmore College men's soccer team handed Plattsburgh State its first loss the season, 2-0  in a non-conference game Saturday in Plattsburgh.
  
Skidmore (4-3-1) grabbed an early lead at the 6:20 mark of the first half when Adam Beek scored on a free kick from the top of the box to give the Thoroughbreds a 1-0 lead.
 
The Thoroughbreds struck again in the 60th minute when Adebare Oyeniyi scored on a header off Beek's corner kick to give Skidmore a 2-0 advantage.
 
Plattsburgh State (5-1-1)  failed to take advantage of its chances in the second half as four of its five shots on goal came in the latter half of the game but Skidmore goalkeeper Danny Ebenstein answered the call each time. Ebenstein recorded five saves in his first win of the year for the Thoroughbreds.
