Busy weekend ahead for Skidmore athletics

Saratoga Springs, N.Y. - Five Skidmore College teams will be in action at home this Saturday during a busy weekend of Thoroughbred athletics.  Men's soccer hosts Clarkson, volleyball hosts Liberty League action, men's and women's swimming & diving will host St. Lawrence and riding will host the Skidmore Show.

Volleyball closes out its Liberty League regular season, hosting the final weekend of league play.  They will take on St. Lawrence at 11 a.m. and Clarkson at 1:30 p.m.  The Thoroughbreds currently sit second in the league at 6-3 and look to clinch a spot in the Liberty League championship.

Men's soccer hosts its final game of the regular season on Saturday against Clarkson at 2 p.m.  Skidmore is currently 1-4-1 in league play.  They will be celebrating "senior day" as well as wearing yellow shoe laces to support Lace-Up 4 Pediatric Cancer.

Men's and women's swimming & diving opens its 2011-2012 season with a dual meet against Liberty League foe St. Lawrence.  The meet will take place at 1 p.m. in the Williamson Sports Center.

Riding also opens its season at home on Saturday with the Skidmore Show at the Van Lennep Riding Center.  The Thoroughbreds look to continue thier success after last year's second place finish at the IHSA nationals.
